Spray Foam Insulation Guide

Spray foam is powerful but only when it’s installed by someone who knows what they’re doing. Here’s what to look for.

Open-cell vs closed-cell

Open-cell is softer, more affordable, and great for interior cavities. Closed-cell is denser, water-resistant, and adds structural rigidity — ideal for rim joists and exposed undersides.

Why it air-seals

Foam expands and bonds to the substrate as it cures. Done right, it eliminates the small gaps that fiberglass alone can’t close.

Common mistakes to avoid

Spraying too thick in one pass (causes voids), skipping ventilation during cure, and applying on damp surfaces. We follow manufacturer specs every time.
